In what was once Denmark’s biggest textile factory in the 1800s, new technology has now been used to tell the story of working life at the cloth mill, the growth of industrial society and the welfare state.
The old industrial complex of Brede comprised a small society, with workers cottages, managerial homes, a huge garden, an eating huse, a childrens's nursery as well as the owner's residence. The factory buildings house the exhibition 'The Cradle of Industry'.
