In 2009-2011 Denmark will introduce a new series of bank notes, each with a motif like the Sun Chariot, the Hindsgavl Dagger in flint and other finds several thousand years old that have emerged from the Danish soil.  The notes have been designed by the artist Karin Birgitte Lund and also show a number of Danish bridges. CLIMATE - Denmark from Glaciers to Global Warming

From crested pelicans to mammoths metres high – Denmark has not always been the Ugly Duckling’s country. We have had tundra with temperatures like Greenland, and dense primal forest in a Riviera climate. Indians of the Rain Forest

The National Museum’s new temporary exhibition, “Indians of the Rain Forest”, follows the Indians in the forest, on the rivers and in the communal houses where everyday life, dreams and myths fuse together.

Hammocks, poisoned arrows, bat necklaces and large, colourful photos give the visitor the experience of being there in the magical world of the rain forest. Indians of the Rain Forest
